Rehash of older stories, mostly from the Golden Age, with a nice mix of more contemporary fiction.
You will think time stood still when you buy this many stories for under one dollar. Even when I was haunting drugstore paperback racks, I could not get them this cheap. Like all short story collection, the tone and quality has a range. But if you want idea fiction - this is it.
Good stories and clever outcomes. Easy reading, easy to put down and get back into. One of the stories has me thinking can a person be in different two or more times? I guess we won't know until we get time travel.
Unfortunately the "Megapacks" are collections of mediocre and uninteresting stories. Even the occasional story by a major author is obviously junk which did not get published I n a quality anthology. Recommend no one spend even 99 cents for this type of collection
I have enjoyed all the Megapack collections from science fiction to horror to the supernatural to various collections. Since they are collections, they do vary from story to story but that is part of the fun of it and you surely can't beat the price.

Since I have bought so many of the Megapacks, I have yet to get around to reading a lot of them but, the ones I have read have been generally high grade. I suspect that the first volume or two in any series, such as the Time Travel Megapacks, are probably better since I imagine that the best stories would be choses first. Yet, if we are, at times, talking pulp fiction or fifties scie fie, the archives to draw upon must be massive. I ate up science fiction in the fifties when I was a young teen but I think I only managed to read about a fifth of what was out there.

I did have one problem with the First Western Megapack and this problem is peculiar to me. Since I surer from some vision problems, I have trouble reading prin t on a light background. I set my Fires to white text on black background. Since my eyes are always glared out like when you get your eyes dilated at the eye doctor, this is a true God send to me to be able to do this. I cannot easily read regular kindles and even my Paperwhite is a pain in the butt but the fire tablets are a true blessing.

The western megapack collection did not allow itself to be reversed. I think it was just photographed and I think it is an earlier attempt at transferring stuff to readers since, so far, I have had this trouble only with one other book and this book was not in the Megapack series.

I want to really applaud the efforsts of the people who publish these things. They also state that they attempt to not duplicate material. If you have a story by Heinlein, for example, they try to not have that story, they claim, in the author based Megapack. Soime stories are so seminal to a particular autor, however, that it would be almost an outrage to leave them out of the author Megapack. Imagine the Tarzan series without the very first Tarzan book.

All in all, though a mixed bag out of pure necessity, these collections are superb and lots of fun. I have almost endless stories in more than a dozen genres to read when in waiting rooms totally bored.

Since I am pushing seventy years of age, I may even wonder if I will plow through half the stories I have perchases. It beats watching cable news twenty four seven, though.

Some of the stories were enjoyable, but most just felt like more of the same, and a few were just awful. (I'm gonna use my dinosaur time net to scoop up history's hot chicks! Bleh.) It's like they're not making any conscious choices about what to include, just selecting anything with time travel at random.
I usually enjoy most of the stories in these megapacks, but this one is a rare miss. Many of the stories use obscure slang from the 40s and 50s, and are generally poorly written.
